St. Raymond
Saint Raymond of Penyafort was a 13th-century Spanish Dominican friar who played a key role in the development of canon law in the Catholic Church. He is best known for his compilation of canon law texts known as the "Decretals of Gregory IX," which became a standard legal text in the Church. Raymond also worked tirelessly for the conversion of Muslims and Jews and is said to have miraculously crossed the Mediterranean Sea on his cloak. He is venerated as a patron saint of lawyers and canon lawyers.
