St. Leo
Saint Leo the Great was Pope from 440 to his death in 461. He is known for his theological writings, his diplomacy in dealing with barbarian invaders, and his efforts to assert the primacy of the Bishop of Rome over other sees. Leo is considered one of the greatest popes of the early Church and was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1754. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodox Church, Anglican Communion, and various other Christian denominations.
Feast Day is on November 10.
