St. Justin
Saint Justin Martyr was an early Christian apologist and philosopher who lived in the 2nd century. Born in Samaria around 100 AD, he sought truth through various philosophical schools before converting to Christianity. Justin is best known for his works "First Apology" and "Second Apology," which defended Christianity to the Roman authorities and explained Christian beliefs and practices. He also wrote "Dialogue with Trypho," a discussion on the relationship between Christianity and Judaism. Justin was martyred around 165 AD under the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. He is venerated for his intellectual contributions to Christian theology and his unwavering commitment to his faith.
