St. John of God
Saint John of God, born João Duarte Cidade, was a Portuguese soldier who later became a Spanish hospitaler and founder of the Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God. He is considered the patron saint of nurses and is remembered for his dedication to caring for the sick, poor, and those suffering from mental illness. John of God is known for his humility and compassion, and he is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church for his charitable work and devotion to the sick and needy.
Feast Day is on March 8.
