St. Elias
Saint Elias is a prominent prophet in the Old Testament, known for his zealous defense of the worship of Yahweh against the Baal worshippers during the reign of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel in Israel. He performed many miracles, including raising the dead, calling down fire from heaven, and ascending to heaven in a chariot of fire. Elias is highly revered in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. In Christian tradition, he is particularly honored by the Carmelite Order, which claims him as its spiritual founder. Elias is remembered for his unwavering faith, his miracles, and his powerful advocacy for God's covenant.
Feast Day is on July 20.
