Self-Lite Charcoal

I've used this charcoal for years and have been pretty happy with it mostly. I divide the charcoal briquettes into pieces for burning incense. I guess they did some retooling of their manufacturing process while it wasn't available for a while. I had them on backorder for a long time and the ones I received recently had more prominent ridges for cutting them up than the ones they used to make. In my experience, this makes splitting them up much more consistent than before. Another difference I noted was that they used to come in flats of briquettes and now they come in Mylar rolls of briquettes which are cleaner to handle. Lighting a piece seems a little smokier than I remember it, but still not very smoky.

I purchased the charcoal to ignite the incense and boy does it ever light easily. It rweally works great when i use it under the incense.
